GenCon: Darrington Press Promises Two Books of Daggerheart A Year
Darrington Press promises two "tentpole" books every year until 2030, doubling its new content a year after the TTRPG's successful launch in 2024.
Daggerheart, the popular TTRPG designed by the team at Darrington Press and Critical Role, announced that it is stepping up its game over the next three years, promising to publish two “tentpole” Daggerheart books a year until 2030.
The publisher previewed its plans for the next three years during Daggerheart Next, its GenCon preview event. While a timeline was not presented for when the books will be released, it said that the books would be entirely different than the core rulebook and the expansion Hopes and Fears.
At least two of the future books were teased. First, former D&D lead Chris Perkins is planning to write an anthology of adventures set in a number of classic fantasy setting.
Second, Darrington Press designer Rowan Hall is designing a setting book based “in a world you might recognize,” according to the DP team.
The sudden pivot to two books a year proves that Darrington Press is notably confident in the game’s future. Darrington Press COO Ed Lopez told Business Insider that the original book supply (which the company predicted would cover its needs for a year) sold out in two weeks. It also claims that 999,980 characters had been made on the Daggerheart Demiplane Nexus (I suspect it hit 1 million as of the time I publish this piece.)
Darrington doesn’t intend to focus on just two releases, however. There are a number of smaller releases scheduled throughout the period as well.

Roll and Play Press is releasing a Daggerheart version of One Shot Wonders, the publisher’s series of one-shots. They will all be new adventures, according to Roll and Play Press.
With Love and Magic, a standalone romantasy frame, is expected to come out this fall.
The Dying Spire one-shot is available online and in limited physical format at GenCon 2026.
New one-shot adventures are also going to be released on a regular basis online. The first is expected to release some time in August.
