Mongoose Publishing to Reprint Original Traveller Box Set

Nostalgic fans of Traveller, the classic science fiction TTRPG that helped inspire thousands of others, will now have a chance to get their own copy of the game’s first box set.
Mongoose Publishing announced earlier this week that it intends to reprint Marc Miller and Game Designer’s Workshop’s first Traveller box set in 2027. The original game was published in 1977 and helped define science fiction adventure for TTRPG fans.
“Traveller was not the first sci-fi RPG but it is the longest-running, and in 2027 it turns 50! In honour of that milestone, Mongoose Publishing are reprinting the box set and a selection of the Little Black Books which started it all,” the company wrote in its Kickstarter preview page.
This new release will be “as faithful to the originals as possible”, albeit with some updated typeset and removed typos. It will feature the first three booklets; Book 1: Characters and Combat, Book 2: Starships, and Book 3: Worlds and Adventures.
Additional supplements will be available as well, including Book 4: Mercenary, Book 5: High Guard, Supplement 1: 1001 Characters, Supplement 2: Animal Encounters, Adventure 1: The Kinunir and Adventure 2: Research Station Gamma.
The original version of the game was printed and revealed at Origins III in 1977 by GDW. One of the features that made the game stand out was how it made lifepaths popular, and is considered one of the first to do so.
The reprint is scheduled to crowdfund in January 2027.
Paizo Adds Classic Horror, Video Game Scenarios to 13 Omens
Last week, we noted that 13 Omens publisher Paizo turned Re-Animator into a zine for the horror-based TTRPG. Now they’ve added multiple additional IPs to the list.

Paizo
Three Hammer horror films Scars of Dracula, Blood from the Mummy’s Tomb and The Horror of Frankenstein are also being turned into scenarios and zines for 13 Omens, according to Paizo. Hammer is a classic film company, known for its classic horror films (often featuring Vincent Price in a variety of roles). Each film features an iconic horror character of some repute.
The Wicker Man, a 1973 horror film about a police officer hunting for a missing girl on a strange, isolated island, is also being adapted into a scenario. The film was later adapted into a 2006 film featuring Nicholas Cage.

Paizo Games
Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly, an adaptation of a popular Japanese video game, is also getting turned into a zine.
“This story puts 13 Omens players in at the forefront of terror as victims trapped in a village haunted by ghosts that can be fought only with the spiritual power of the Camera Obscura,” the announcement states. “Can you survive the night, or will the eerie photographs you capture be all that remains?”
“We’re excited to work with KOEI TECMO GAMES to bring the horrors of Minakami Village to tabletop roleplaying games for the first time,” said Paizo Publisher and Chief Creative Officer Erik Mona, “13 Omens players will get to experience the lore of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE firsthand and tell their own stories in this rich, terrifying world.”
Paizo appears to be leaning more and more toward adapting traditional horror IP into a playable game format via 13 Omens. It may offer popular properties a way to find a wider audiences among TTRPG fans, rather than launching their own TTRPG based on the property.
Sci Fi Cartoon Network Classic Ben 10 to Get TTRPG Adaptation

D20 Culture
A nostalgic Cartoon Network show about a young boy using alien technology to transform into aliens may be coming to a table near you.
Brazil-based D20 Culture announced this week that it is producing Ben 10 Beyond, a TTRPG based on the cartoon of the same name. Players will choose various species and work together in roles based on the characters and species described in the game. It will reportedly use a D20 system, and may be built on a system similar to D20 Culture’s Justice League Unlimited TTRPG.
No date has been announced for the Ben 10 release, although details are expected to be released at PAX Unplugged in December 2026. The game is expected to crowdfund in Q1 2027.
Ben 10 premiered in 2005 and followed the adventures of Ben Tennyson, a young hero who used a watch called the Omnitrix to transform into aliens with various skills and power levels. The show has received multiple sequels and reboots since then and is considered a nostalgic property among many Generation Z fans.

Rowan Rook and Decard Get Deep into Trench Crusade in HELL AND HIGH WATER

Rowan Rook and Deckard
UK-based publisher Rowan Rook and Decard are partnering up to create the first TTRPG experience based on the demonic World War-inspired Trench Crusade.
The publisher is releasing Hell and High Water, a 64-page adventure set in the Trench Crusade universe, in which players will act as “Faithful” (human soldiers fighting against demonic forces seeking to take over the world) on the front lines of the war with Hell.
The game is built on the rules of Hollows, a Dark Souls-esque TTRPG in which players hunt large monsters in a poisoned world and fight monstrous bosses. Players will not need to own the core rules for Hollows, which only released in PDF form in the last year or so.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this,” says Grant Howitt (Heart, Spire, Hollows, Honey Heist), lead writer on Hell and High Water. “I’ve been playing Trench Crusade ever since the first rules came out - I even kitbashed several Trench Pilgrim warbands together before they had the official models for sale - so I leapt at the chance to work in the blood-and-brimstone grandeur of the setting professionally.”
“There’s a lot of crossover between the two worlds, mainly where it comes to brutal violence and unorthodox supernatural influence, so it felt like a natural fit. We had to adjust the relative power levels a bit to map the immortal-superheroes-with-depression tone of Hollows onto the life-is-cheap grimness of TC, and I’m very happy with where we’ve ended up.”
“From day one, Trench Crusade has made a habit of collaborating with the coolest indie miniature teams and game designers,” Marc Gascoigne, Trench Crusade’s Head of Special Ops said in a press statement. “When the possibility of Trench Crusade making a guest appearance in Hollows popped up we were delighted to add to the carnage. And if it also means we can also sneakily test the appetite of gamers for a potential full RPG further down the path, well… but I’ve said too much.”
Trench Crusade is a skirmish-based wargame made by Factory Fortress that “pits Heaven’s Faithful against the Fallen of Hell in the mud-choked trenches of a WW1 that never was.” The IP was announced in 2016, but turned into a wargame and attracted a lot of attention in 2023. It’s grown notably popular in recent years, with multiple new sets and releases.
The game will be released to general audiences on November 30 or be available for pickup at Dragonmeet 2026.

Cosmere TTPRG Designer Joins D&D Team
Hey bskiers: I've got a pretty big work and life update…and a lot of gratitude, more than I could capture in 300 characters jarofeyes.substack.com/p/gratitude ⚔️❤️🔥⚔️ #WotCStaff

Lyla Fujiwara, the lead designer for the Cosmere TTRPG, has joined Wizards of the Coast as a senior game designer for Dungeons and Dragons.
“Two decades ago, I was a nerdy but confident teen who wrote her college application essay about running D&D campaigns for her friends,” Lyla wrote in a blog post. “I keep thinking not only about how excited I am, but how over the moon my younger self would be. I have the rare honor of contributing to a game that captured my heart as a kid, leading to decades of stories told in living rooms, dorm rooms, and over kitchen tables.”
Brooke Whitney has taken over as project lead for the Cosmere RPG as of October 2026, according to her profile. Whitney previously worked as a community manager for Roll20.
Fujiwara was previously recognized as a winner of the 2025 Diana Jones Emerging Designer Program. She’s worked for Evil Hat Productions and Hit Point Press. She also published Jukebox: the Karaoke Musical TTRPG in 2024.

Leadership Shifts at Trade Association GAMA

GAMA, the Tabletop Game Association, has undergone multiple leadership changes in the last few weeks.
Last week, chief operating officer and interim executive director Melinda Prickett said she would resign from her role as of November 6. She joined the organization back in September 2025. Prickett played a notable role in stabilizing the trade association’s finances after former executive director John Stacy left in 2025.
Foam Brain Games CEO Andrew Zorowitz announced on November 5 that they are taking over as acting executive director and will help to oversee the organization. He will help to manage the organization until May 2027, including overseeing the GAMA trade fair and Origins in 2027. He is stepping away from Foam Brain Games for the time being while operating GAMA.
Prickett was joined by Ross Thompson, who announced his resignation from the GAMA board of directors at the same time. Thompson previously served as the organization's media contact and currently works as the integrated marketing manager for Critical Role.
Prickett did not state their reason for departing. Thompson said in a LinkedIn post that there were “things that needed addressing” at the higher levels of the organization but did not elaborate.
The organization has seen notable turnover in recent months, including new communications leaders, leadership shifts, and an apology tour in March 2026 for its leadership’s treatment of members.
