Justice Ramin Arman Steps into D&D Leadership as Game Design Director

Justice Ramin Arman

Justice Ramin Arman has been appointed as game design director for Dungeons and Dragons, according to a post from the designer on BlueSky.

“Since joining Wizards, I've been trusted to lead a spectrum of play experiences: returns to beloved campaign settings, classic adventures reimagined for the current edition, and two boxed sets designed to welcome new and returning players alike to a game I cherish deeply,” wrote Arman. "No other game can rival the profound impact that D&D has had on my life, and I'm honored to continue paying that forward in this new position.”

"However, like every great D&D story, no adventure can be completed alone! Each day, I work alongside some of the best and brightest in the games industry,” added Arman. “These artists, designers, doers, and imagineers generously lend their talents to create memorable experiences for fans around the world. In this role, I'll lead the Game Design Team to bring players together, meet them where they are, and empower them to tell unforgettable stories with each other.”

Arman previously worked at Beadle and Grimm's from 2019 to 2022, joined WOTC as a senior game designer in 2022, and was promoted to managing game designer in 2024. He also has freelance credits with Critical Role, MCDM, and 2C Gaming.

Arman will have big shoes to fill as he takes over game design leadership for D&D’s future projects, especially after the departure of former D&D leads Chris Perkins and Jeremy Crawford left the company early this year. Crawford and Perkins now work at Critical Role’s Darrington Press. Arman’s promotion also arrived after Dan Ayoub became head of the D&D franchise in July.

Dungeons and Dragons released Eberron: Forge of the Artificer this month, making it the last known property scheduled for release by D&D and WOTC so far. It’s unclear what D&D plans to release next, although it seems likely that the projects will be led by Arman and the team remaining at WOTC.

Vampire the Masquerade’s Jason Carl Steps Down after Decade in the World of Darkness

Jason Carl

World of Darkness brand marketing manager Jason Carl announced on Tuesday that he was stepping down from his role at World of Darkness and Paradox Interactive. Carl has been working with Paradox Interactive and WoD for the last ten years. He’s also best known as the storyteller leading LA by Night and New York by Night, two of the more popular Vampire: the Masquerade actual plays.

“Working on Vampire: The Masquerade and the greater World of Darkness has been more than a job or a profession for me. It has been a calling, a privilege, and a creative responsibility I’ve cherished deeply,” Carl wrote in a note. “Together with this remarkable community of fans, storytellers, and creators, I’ve had the honor of helping rekindle a mythos that continues to inspire imagination and reflection across generations.”

He thanked all of the team at White Wolf and announced that he will be joining Tabletop Vacations (the people behind D&D in a Castle and Dungeon Master University) as the dean of DMU. Carl’s worked with Tabletop Vacations in the past as a storyteller and has previously written D&D content before his time at World of Darkness.

Carl’s departure arrives at a year of significant leadership changes within the popular dark modern TTRPG and IP. World of Darkness announced in May 2025 at its LARP event Darkness Emergent that it was rebranding as White Wolf, a return to the original publisher that had created VTM and its many other properties. The rebrand was an indication of its desire to “develop both classic and new IPs faster and with a clearer long-term transmedia vision, always in collaboration with our passionate fans and partners.” This was followed by former D&D executive Jess Lanzillo joining White Wolf in July as its new creative director, and Brazilian game dev Diogo Noguiera joining as lead game designer in December.

The company hopes to push new versions of WoD’s old splatbooks, including Vampire: The Dark Ages and Mage: The Ascension, in the near term. However, it has not confirmed any timelines or plans beyond allusions to the properties in media interviews.

The big focus of WoD and its parent company Paradox Interactive in 2025 was the release of Bloodlines 2, a spiritual successor to the cult classic vampire-themed video game from the 2000s. The game underperformed in sales and was marked as a loss in recent reports. It also released Tattered Facade, a new book published by Renegade Game Studios focusing on the horror aspects of Vampire: The Masquerade.
