Day 3 of GenCon! The news is likely going to slow down for now, but there will still be some interviews and coverage. I have a lot of fun stuff planned, but that will likely come to pass after the convention.

The big news today is the Ennies. The tabletop gaming award season released the winners last night. Avantris Entertainment, Son of Oak Games, Darrington Press, and Exalted Funeral were the standout winners.

We also got to sit down with D&D’s team to talk about the World of Warcraft expansion. There are a couple more interviews from that down the line, so stay tuned.

Modiphius also previewed its plans for its miniature games and TTRPGs, including a vague update on the anticipated Wolfenstein TTRPG.

Modiphius Previews Star Trek Anniversary Content, Discworld Expansions

The UK-based TTRPG and miniature publisher Modiphius previewed a few new projects at a panel on Saturday.

The focus was on a number of their miniature games, including the newly announced XCOM miniature game and the second edition of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare.

The main TTRPG product featured at GenCon was the Discworld TTRPG, which was crowdfunded in 2024. A digest rulebook and starter set are going to be released to retail, followed by board games in the setting. A TTRPG expansion exploring the regions of Lancre and Uberwald (best known for witches and other spooky creatures) will crowdfund on Gamefound in October 2026.

The team also previewed plans to release new Star Trek Adventures 2e material celebrating the 60th anniversary of Star Trek, although details were sparse beyond vague screenshots.

New updates for Star Trek Adventures 2e! Something coming for 60th anniversary. Will preorder soon. Details soon. Products out in Oct/Nov. 2026.

When asked by the crowd, the Modiphius team said the upcoming Wolfenstein game (based on MachineGames’/Bethesda’s Wolfenstein: The New Order and the surrounding lore) will use an updated version of its 2d20 system. The original plan was to release this fall, but it was delayed until 2027. The delays appear to have been caused by the Microsoft layoffs due to the need to have any new Wolfenstein content reviewed by the team at MachineGames/Bethesda.
